Art Competitions for Kids and Families in Toronto
Create, compete and take home something you’re proud of. Seasonal art competitions and events at the CCSA studio.
CCSA’s art competitions in Toronto give young artists a fun reason to push their creativity further. Every competition is hosted at our studio, guided by professional artist-instructors and built around one exciting challenge. Participants get all the materials they need, expert tips along the way and the thrill of seeing their work celebrated.
Judging is friendly and fair: entries are judged on creativity, with each participant’s age taken into account, so every artist has a real chance to win. Win or not, everyone goes home with their own finished creation. New competitions and seasonal events are added throughout the year, so check back often.

Hat-tastic 2026: Toronto Children’s Hat Competition
Design a Hat for Your Wildest Adventure
In our first Toronto Hat Competition, we asked young artists ages 4 to 12 one question: If you could go anywhere, do anything, or be anyone, what kind of hat would you wear? Children from around the world sent in handmade 3D hats inspired by dream adventures, imaginary worlds and future selves, from space explorers to candy-kingdom royalty. A jury of professional artists and educators judged entries in three age groups (4–6, 7–9, 10–12) on creativity, originality, artistic expression and use of colour. The winning hats were celebrated at our exhibition and reception gala at the CCSA gallery on February 28, 2026. Congratulations to Elizabeth Griaznova (1st), Leyla Kazi (2nd) and Paulina Reinis (3rd), and thank you to every young designer who took part.
