The Canadian Contemporary School of Art is accepting submissions for our painting contest, “Chez Moi”! Translated in French for “at my home”, this painting contest asks participants to make art of their memories — all the good, the crazy, the ordinary and the magical — during this time they have to stay home.

This contest is open to all children (aged 4 to 14) based in Toronto and the GTA. We want to encourage children to engage in artistic and creative activity in their daily lives, especially at home. “Chez Moi” asks children to pay more attention to their everyday surroundings and the special moments they experience with their immediate family members.

Submission Guidelines:

1.     Since there are limitations for going out in this period of time, children can draw and paint using any material they have available at home.

2.     Scanned artwork must be in 300 dpi. In case that they do not have access of a scanner at home, participants can take a “high quality picture” of their artwork using mobile phone or a camera.

3.     Submissions of the artwork will be accepted on www.ccsa.art/chezmoi

4. Email the artwork to contest@ccsa.art

5.     All artworks received will be exhibited in our website’s virtual gallery.

6.     Participants are asked to write a text (max. 70 words) describing their work. This text will accompany their picture when it is posted on our website.

7.     Participants will be given a $40 credit. This credit can be used for registering for our Summer Camp 2020 or the next academic program year, which starts on September 2020.

8.     We will develop an e-book of all the artworks which can be purchased by interested participants and family members.

9.     Family and friends will vote for the first prize winner. Submissions will be posted daily for our audience to start voting.

10.     The participant with the most votes will win a gift art supply.
